Compensation: This is an exempt position, with an annual salary of $70-75K.
Role Summary: The HR Generalist role is a fully onsite position 5 days a week. This position serves as part of our Human Resources department. You will be executing and coordinating HR daily operations and HR programs in various HR areas, such as benefit, compliance, recruitment, talent development and employee engagement.
Responsibilities:
HR Compliance
- Lead benefit and HR compliance related programs/efforts and daily operations, and coordinate immigration related issues.
- Interpret and explain Federal and State labor-related regulations, human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations and monitor UP’s policies daily to assist managers and employees.
Full-Cycle Recruitment
- Collaborate with hiring managers in recruitment such as assessing manpower needs, review and update job postings, screening, interview scheduling and other related tasks.
- Conduct employee onboarding process including offer letter and contract agreement preparation, prepare orientation materials, collect and properly file documents, I-9 verification and filing, coordinate new hire orientation training, and coordinate among internal activation team to ensure a smooth integration for new hires.
Employee Engagement Programs
- Develop, implement, and effectively communicate about employee engagement events, wellness initiatives, and special projects to build/promote company culture. Assist managers with strategic retention initiatives and employee development.
- Track participation rates, gather and analyze feedback to measure the effectiveness of employee engagement events and programs, making adjustments as needed.
Benefit Administration
- Review and design appropriate benefit packages (including but not limited to health insurance, dental and vision insurance; wellness programs; further education assistance) for UP and establish relevant policies and procedures.
- Manage the administration of all benefit programs, including but not limited to conducting benefits orientations, annual open enrollment process, vendor management, and plan enrollment / withdrawal.
- Manage and process leave of absence requests, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term and long-term disability, parental leave, and other company-specific leave policies.
Office Administration
- Oversee and support all administrative duties in the office and ensure smooth operation including arranging services for office upkeep: office and pantry supplies inventory, AC, pest control, furniture cleaning, small office repairs/maintenance, water plants, etc. Coordinate meetings and travel for executives and act as executive support.
- Develop office policies and procedures, and ensure they are implemented appropriately, and provide guidance to HR associates when needed.
- Prepare HR-related quarterly/monthly people reports and documents.
Time Card Management
- Support HR in daily HR operational tasks such as employee timecard management.
- Manage and maintain payroll accuracy through payroll records for employees and prepare payroll reports, audits, and timekeeping information.
- Coordinate with finance/accounting teams to ensure accurate payments and benefits continuation during leaves.
Qualifications:
- Must be authorized to work in the US at the time of hire. We are an E-Verify employer!
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Development, Communication, or a related field.
- 3-5 years HR experience in an HR generalist role, with Recruitment and HR Compliance knowledge.
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills; analytical, problem-solving abilities, multitasking skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and reliably with limited direction, and a quick learner.
- Work experience in a diverse culture workplace is a plus.
